Terms of use

1. Provider and scope

clubrides.eu is provided by Timo Lohmann (address see imprint, email: [email protected]). These terms apply to everyone who creates an account on clubrides.eu. For clubs that subscribe to the Pro plan, the section “Pro plan” applies in addition.

Deviating terms of users or clubs do not apply, even if we do not expressly object to them.

2. What clubrides.eu is

clubrides.eu is a tool for cycling clubs and groups to organise rides together: creating rides, signing up and withdrawing, sharing routes and chatting.

The Free plan is free of charge. The Pro plan unlocks additional features; which ones is shown on the plan page in the club settings and in the pricing overview on clubrides.eu.

We continuously develop clubrides.eu and may change, add or remove features as long as the core of the service is preserved and the change is reasonable for you. We aim for uninterrupted operation but cannot guarantee permanent availability — for example during maintenance or outages at service providers.

3. Your account

Provide accurate information when registering and keep your login details secret. You are responsible for everything that happens through your account unless you are not responsible for the misuse.

Anyone under 16 needs the consent of a parent or guardian to create an account.

You can delete your account at any time in the settings. What happens to your data is described in the privacy policy.

4. Clubs and roles

A club is managed by its admins. They decide who becomes a member, assign roles and are responsible for the content the club publishes on clubrides.eu (e.g. landing page and risk notice).

Anyone who creates a club or subscribes to the Pro plan for it confirms that they are authorised to do so by the club.

5. Content and conduct

You are responsible for the content you post — rides, routes, messages, images, listings. It must not infringe the rights of others or violate laws or the community guidelines.

You grant us the simple, free right to store your content and show it to the people you shared it with, insofar as this is necessary to operate clubrides.eu. This right ends when you delete the content or your account, with the exceptions described in the privacy policy (e.g. chat messages that remain available to the other participants).

If content violates these terms or the community guidelines, we may remove it and suspend the account temporarily or permanently.

6. Cycling at your own risk

Taking part in rides is at your own risk. Riding in a group carries the usual risks of the sport (e.g. crashes, riding too close, potholes), which you accept by taking part. Ride safely, follow the traffic rules and wear a helmet. Clubs can additionally set their own risk notice, which is confirmed when joining by invitation.

Rides are organised by the clubs and their members, not by clubrides.eu. We are not the organiser and take no responsibility for how a ride is carried out or for its safety.

Routes, distances, elevation, time and weather forecasts are planning aids without guarantee. Check yourself before and during the ride whether a route is passable and suitable for you, and follow the traffic rules.

7. Pro plan

The Pro plan is subscribed for a club. The contracting party is the club, represented by the admin who subscribes. The offer is aimed at clubs and groups, not at consumers within the meaning of Section 13 of the German Civil Code (BGB).

Trial: every club can try the Pro plan once for 30 days free of charge. No payment details are required, and the trial ends on its own without turning into a paid subscription.

Price and payment: the Pro plan costs €14.99 per month. As a small business under Section 19 of the German VAT Act (UStG), we do not charge VAT. Billing is monthly in advance through our payment provider Stripe using the payment method chosen at checkout. If a club subscribes during its trial, the first charge only happens when the trial ends.

Term and cancellation: the subscription renews for one month at a time. It can be cancelled at any time effective at the end of the current billing month, in the club settings under “Plan”. Months already paid are not refunded pro rata. The right to terminate for good cause remains unaffected.

Failed payments: if a payment fails, Stripe retries it and informs by email. If it remains unpaid, the subscription ends and the club moves to the Free plan.

End of the Pro plan: the club's content is kept. From then on the limits of the Free plan apply; among other things, chat messages are only visible for 30 days and Pro features can no longer be newly set up.

We announce price changes to the admins by email at least six weeks in advance. They apply from the first billing month after this period; until then the subscription can be cancelled without further ado.

A club with a running subscription can only be deleted once the subscription has ended.

8. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health and under the German Product Liability Act.

In cases of slight negligence, we are liable under the Pro plan only for breaches of essential contractual obligations — those whose fulfilment makes use possible in the first place and on which you may rely — and limited to the typical, foreseeable damage. For free use we are not liable for slight negligence, except for injury to life, body or health.

9. Termination by us

In the event of serious or repeated violations of these terms, we may suspend an account or terminate the contract without notice.

We may discontinue clubrides.eu with four weeks' notice. For Pro plan periods already paid that fall after that date, we refund the pro rata amount.

10. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we will inform you by email at least six weeks in advance. If you do not agree, you can delete your account or cancel the Pro plan before then. Changes to the balance of service and price of the Pro plan only apply with the club's consent.

11. Final provisions

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Should any provision be invalid, the remainder remains effective.

We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. Questions and complaints can be sent to [email protected].
